PiNS
The PiNS Study is looking at why some patients with diabetes develop peripheral neuropathy. Below is an extract of the patient information leaflet giving more information:
"This study is designed to look, in detail, at the changes in sensation occurring as a consequence of having neuropathy. We will also be examining the effect that neuropathy and neuropathic pain has on peoples’ psychological well-being, functionality and quality of life. In particular, we will look at how pain may make people anxious, depressed, interfere with their daily living or interfere with their sleep. By doing this we hope to acquire a better understanding of the effects of neuropathy and neuropathic pain, and also develop better techniques for assessing these in our clinics."
