A number of practices are reporting that their QOF income is lower than expected. We are hearing reports that CQRS may have made an error in their prevalence calculations which ma explain this but practices should also be aware that there is another explanation that is likely.
QOF income is directly linked to your relative prevalence of chronic disease. If you increased you prevalence of dementia (for example) by 8% last year, but nationally most other practices increased their prevalence by 12% than your relative prevalence will have fallen and you will see a fall in QOF income for this area. It is therefore really important to ensure your practice data is correctly coded so you don't see further falls in QOF income this year. Our free QOF Data Validation Summary Report will give you an overview of the value of any coding errors in your Practice - we recommend you request a copy of the report for your Practice now so you have time to consider the report over the coming months. |
